Not only did we have 18 teams turn up to MedEquip4Kids Golf Day this year, but the sun was also out in all its glory. Teams included Miles Smith, Co-operative Insurance, VINCI Construction UK,  Hurst  and Pop-Up Products, to name but a few. After being welcomed at Bramall Park Golf Club with bacon butties and coffee the teams headed out for a shot gun start at 1:30pm. The sun stayed shining for their 18 holes ahead and cold beers were enjoyed at the half way house.

The teams came back around 5:30pm raving about what a great day they’d had. Everyone sat down to enjoy a delicious two-course meal in the lovely and recently revamped function room at the clubhouse, where the winners from the day were announced.

1st place was  awarded to Jake Unsworth from Unsworth Funerals

2nd place went to Miles Smith

3rd went to Nick Crossweight and his team.

All attendees had the opportunity to enter a charity prize draw kindly donating to our wonderful cause for a chance to win some fabulous prizes. The prizes up for grabs were five signed and framed Manchester United player photographs kindly donated by MUDSA, Tesla Driving Experience donated by Dudley Southern at Tesla Knutsford, four premiership tickets donated by Aviva, and a £300 voucher generously donated by the ladies fashion shop, Angela Beer in Bramhall.

We’d like to say a massive thank you to all who came along on the day and everyone who donated prizes, including The Range, Revolucion De Cuba, Romulus Restaurant, Vasper Bar, Aston Golf Club, Davenport Golf Club, Bramall Park Golf Club and The Alchemist Media City. A special mention to C&C Healthcare for sponsoring a hole and to our Trustee Alan Tattler for organising such a brilliant day.

The event raised a total of £5,431 to help MedEquip4Kids fund crucial equipment and resources for children’s health across Greater Manchester.

“The specialist treatment chairs are a new vital resource for the therapy team and nursing staff to be able to safely and comfortably sit extremely complex, dependant, critical care patients out of bed. The chairs allow us to begin the patient’s rehabilitation journey by providing appropriate postural support at the same time as pressure relief to allow the patient to build the muscle strength to hold themselves up against gravity. This allows them to begin to interact with their environment in a more normal way, enabling them to participate in meaningful activities such as meal times and activities of daily living.”
