Watch the latest video from Professor Jerome Carson from the University of Bolton, who will be walking an incredible 185 miles from Manchester to Walsingham to raise funds for the Hummingbird Project. The film also features project manager Catherine North introducing the work of MedEquip4Kids.

Delivered free of charge by MedEquip4Kids, the Hummingbird Project has been active in schools in Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside and has reached nearly 6,500 pupils since it began in 2018. It takes a preventative approach to mental health issues by introducing evidence-based concepts and practices that can improve resilience and emotional wellbeing.

“The materials provided greatly help with the therapeutic process and engaging children, young people and their families in therapeutic work. The young people greatly appreciate having this equipment to use within their sessions. Many of the young people we see have a history of trauma including neglect and being able to access materials that they can use and enjoy is of great benefit and hopefully assists us to reinforce the messages of their worth as their self-concept is often very low.”
