A fantastic day out was enjoyed by the 19 teams from local businesses who took part in the annual MedEquip4Kids Corporate Golf Day 2021 at Bramall Park Golf Club. Thankfully the weather was mainly kind, with warm and sunny spells, until the last hole when we were treated to a mini downpour! The golfers especially appreciated the beer and sausage rolls on offer with the raffle at the Half Way House at the 10th tee.

Congratulations go to the winning team (pictured left) from Marsh Commercial, led by Matthew Tattler. The competition was close-run with not many points separating the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

The event was the first that we have been able to hold for more than a year, and we are more grateful than ever for the support of our community. A massive thank you goes to Alan Tattler of Specialist Risk Group for organizing the teams, the sponsors, and the delicious meal that followed. The Corporate Golf Day raised a fantastic £7,000 to help us provide equipment for children in local hospitals. We’d also like to thank all the companies and individuals who sponsored holes or donated prizes for this event, as follows.

“The switch adapted toys have been a wonderful addition to our school. Both staff and children were thrilled to have some new exciting resources. The children love the lights and movement many of these switch toys have and are highly motivated to explore and investigate how to make them work. They have been great for pupils to develop their understanding of cause and effect and we have also noticed improved concentration and engagement when using them. Often it can be difficult to find toys that are robust enough to withstand lots of heavy use AND be interesting and fun. These new resources tick all those boxes. They have made a noticeable impact on the children’s development in this area.”
