Thank you so much to our long-standing supporters VINCI Construction UK for holding a golf day in aid of MedEquip4Kids. Thirteen teams took part in the event on 2nd June at Worsley Park Marriott Hotel and Country Club. Congratulations to the winning teams:

1st Place – Aplant
2nd Place – VINCI
3rd Place  – HE SIMM

The golf day raised an amazing £8,420, which will fund an AccuVein AV400 vein illumination device for Stepping Hill Hospital. The device allows clinicians carrying out venepuncture to see children’s veins that are invisible to the naked eye, reducing stress and pain for the child.

We are providing this equipment as part of our appeal following the attack on Manchester Arena to raise £100,000 to make sure hospitals in Greater Manchester are fully equipped to provide emergency treatment, rehabilitation and long-term care to children and young people in the event of such incidents.

“The switch adapted toys have been a wonderful addition to our school. Both staff and children were thrilled to have some new exciting resources. The children love the lights and movement many of these switch toys have and are highly motivated to explore and investigate how to make them work. They have been great for pupils to develop their understanding of cause and effect and we have also noticed improved concentration and engagement when using them. Often it can be difficult to find toys that are robust enough to withstand lots of heavy use AND be interesting and fun. These new resources tick all those boxes. They have made a noticeable impact on the children’s development in this area.”
