Bury Community Nursing Team - discharge items (006)
Community Services, Bury
The Children’s Community Nursing Team in Bury cares for children with complex health care needs. The care provided by the team allows children to remain in their home when formerly they would have needed hospital care. Children are cared for by the team from birth or following a major change to their health.
Many children with profound health needs remain in hospital for long periods of time, and can only be allowed home once all the equipment needed for their care has been secured. Often this means up to 6-8 weeks longer in hospital than they need.
3 x Saturation monitors
3 x Nelcor Dura Sensors TOTAL: £4,793.64
Many of the discharges are dependant on ordering saturation monitors and the nursing team don’t have enough in stock to loan out. They have asked us to provide three more monitors with sensors. This will allow another 18 children a year to leave hospital earlier, relieving stress on them and their families.
