Salford Royal Primary Care Trust runs a drop-in clinic for new mums in the Little Hulton area of Salford, to deal with problems with breastfeeding and to support new mums who may otherwise give up breastfeeding. The clinic is staffed by a community midwife trained as a breastfeeding specialist. Salford is an area with low breastfeeding rates, and with that a high rate of associated health problems such as asthma and obesity.

These pumps will be loaned out to mums whose babies are struggling to feed directly, either due to ill health of the baby or mother, or because they may be separated for short times.

The two pumps will cost £1,798.50
