Music in Hospitals - Christmas Concerts (110)
Music In Hospitals is a London-based charity that has been providing live music to individuals in hospitals, care homes and special schools throughout the UK since 1948.
In partnership with MedEquip4Kids the charity would like to hold a series of 10 concerts in Children’s Wards around the Greater Manchester area in the lead up to Christmas.
Students from the Royal Northern College of Music will perform and interact with children through intimate sessions and larger performances in the hospital’s wards and playrooms.
Activities like this brighten the day of children who are in hospital at Christmas time, when they are often missing out on fun activities at school and home. The sessions are great at bringing families together and providing light relief at an often difficult time.
Each session will cost £199.00. This figure covers the musicians’ expenses and time.
We have identified ten hospitals that would benefit from this programme, so the total cost will be £1,990.00.
UPDATE: The concerts for winter 2008/09 have now taken place
