North Manchester - Intellivue Monitor (076)
The Neo Natal Unit at North Manchester General Hospital can take up to 14 babies at any one time, all of whom need intervention immediately after birth, whether because they are born early or with health complications.
The Ward Sister has asked us to provide an Intellivue Monitor to help monitor pre-term and sick babies. The monitor is a single, portable unit that measures heart rate, oxygen levels, respiration, blood pressure and temperature. The monitor would be hugely beneficial to the babies treated on the unit, because it would enable staff to monitor all aspects of babies in critical care and high dependency.
The monitor allows staff to monitor a baby’s condition with minimal intrusion and takes away the problem of a baby being wired up to several machines which can be more uncomfortable.
This equipment would benefit over 100 babies every year at North Manchester, and will ensure that the Neo Natal Unit continues to provide the very best care for premature and sick babies.
The monitor costs £10,838. As a charity we don’t pay VAT on medical items. UPDATE: This monitor has now been delivered
